Genetics and cultivars

Genetics is the one decision you cannot correct mid-cycle.

Climate, irrigation and nutrition can be adjusted as you go. The starting material cannot. So we treat cultivar strategy as a planned decision with multi-year consequences.

Many associations start with whatever was available: a handful of cultivars from different sources, no defined target profile, and no method for judging which of them actually work under their own conditions. Two cycles later the portfolio has grown but consistency has not.

We reverse the order. First define what the result has to deliver: cannabinoid and terpene objectives, cycle length, morphology, robustness, expected yield. Only then select, propagate and evaluate, using a framework that stays comparable across cycles and across people.

Aroma is the quality attribute members perceive most directly. It depends on the cultivar as much as on environmental control, harvest timing and post-harvest handling, and it is the part of quality most easily lost again.
